Hi, I’m Alex Carter, Academic Coach. One of the most common study mistakes is simply rereading notes instead of actively testing what you know.

Try studying in 25-minute focused blocks with a 5-minute break in between. During each session, put your phone on silent and out of reach to eliminate distractions.

After each class, spend about 10 minutes summarizing the main ideas in your own words. At the end of the week, use practice questions or flashcards to test yourself. This active recall method is much more effective than just reviewing your notes.

For better time management, schedule study sessions in your calendar just like classes or work. Staying consistent will help you avoid last-minute cramming.

By combining focused study sessions, active recall, and a regular schedule, you can improve retention, stay organized, and perform better in your assignments and exams.
