Hello, I’m Alex Carter, a certified CPR trainer. Today, I’ll guide you through the essential steps of performing CPR — a lifesaving skill that can make all the difference in an emergency.

Step one: Check for responsiveness. Tap the person and call out. If there’s no response and they’re not breathing normally, call emergency services or direct someone nearby to do so.

Step two: Begin chest compressions. Place the heel of one hand on the center of the chest, the other on top, and press down hard and fast — about 100 to 120 compressions per minute. Allow full chest recoil each time.

Step three: If trained, give two rescue breaths after every 30 compressions. If not, continue hands-only CPR.

Continue CPR until help arrives or the person starts breathing. Quick action saves lives — your hands can be the reason someone gets a second chance.
